The most interesting and exciting elements were the personal tours organised by the tour operator of Havana and the plantation near Trinidad. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday? We were able to just relax and enjoy all of the amazing experiences.ĭavid Anderson review 1. We had incredible help from Marcel planning the holiday and the support and communication from our contact in Havana made sure everything went to plan. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall? This meant that we were able to leave things with all of our hosts that we know they could use or share with neighbours.Ĥ. Marcel from the tour operator also really helpfully gave us a list of things that people in Cuba particularly value. People really need tourist euros and the fact that all our accommodation was in people's homes meant we knew that is being there was benefitting local people. We were very conscious of the difficult economic situation in Cuba whilst we were there. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation? Learn a few words of Spanish before you go, people were so friendly and a bit of Spanish went a long way.ģ. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday? Not to mention putting our spanish well and truly to the test.Ģ. Getting to learn a bit more about life in Cuba from our home stay hosts. Snorkling and jumping into Cenotes at the Bay of Pigs Taking on amazing music in Havana and Trinidad. Walking in the sierra escambray and camping in the mountains, surrounded by hummingbirds. There were so many amazing moments in our holiday, but we especially loved.
